Ambler-based Kelly Anne Dolan Memorial Fund Seeks Sponsors for Holiday Adopt-A-Family Program
Ambler, Pennsylvania, October 27, 2010 The Kelly Anne Dolan Memorial Fund is once again sponsoring the Holiday Adopt-A-Family program for the holidays and actively seeking donors willing to purchase gifts for families in need. The program matches families of seriously ill or disabled children with sponsors to ensure that families in crisis can share in the spirit of the holiday season.
With unemployment rates at a 26-year high, more families than ever are in need of outside help. Peggy Dolan, Executive Director of the Fund, said they expect to receive more than 125 requests for holiday assistance from social workers and other referring professionals in the Delaware Valley. Sponsors, which include church groups, businesses, individual families, scout troops and school groups, receive wish lists as well as information on a family’s situation. This process introduces sponsors to the difficulties and hardships their adopted family faces every day.
