How You Can Host a Fundraiser

Special events play a vital role in the overall “health” of any organization and this is certainly true of ours. They not only raise much-needed dollars for our work, but bring “friends” and volunteers to our organization.

Special events also attract media coverage. Newspaper and TV coverage help to educate the public of our services and the issues serious childhood illness brings to a family and often leads to other offers of help.

If you are a member of a civic or community organization, special interest club or school and would be interested in hosting a fund raising event to help us, our staff would be happy to guide you through the process and offer suggestions for the kinds of events you might consider. A simple neighborhood garage sale, fair, or volleyball tournament are just a few ideas for family and friends to come together for a good cause.

A fund raiser can also be hosted in memory of a loved one who has died or in honor of someone’s accomplishments. What a great gift to have realized that families have received help during a difficult period in their lives because of your generosity.
