Holiday Adopt-a-Family Program
ill boyThe Kelly Anne Dolan Memorial Fund has been providing holiday cheer to families with seriously ill children since 1994. Healthcare professionals at designated hospitals and social service agencies recommend patients and their families for whom the holidays will be bleak. The Fund then pairs the families with sponsors who provide gifts to these families in need.

Here's what one social worker had to say about this year's program:

Wow! How can I begin to thank you and your amazing donors for the generous support your provided to so many of our families at Ken Crest? Each family that I referred was completely awestruck by the kindness, generosity, and thought that went into the gifts that were provided. One family was moved to tears; another was smiling more than I've ever seen before. Through the efforts of your wonderful staff and donors, the families we serve at Ken Crest had happier and brighter holidays than they could have ever imagined.

This year, thanks to the generosity of many sponsors, our program served 217 families--more than ever before. We are so grateful to everyone who helped make the program a success, especially the folks at the Wissahickon Fire Company, who graciously donated the use of their fire hall for collecting and distributing gifts, and the kind people at Sloane Moving Company, who volunteered to deliver a truckload of gifts to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.

Finally, we'd like to thank a very special large green helper, who visited on December 10 to deliver a bunch of gifts from the Philadelphia Phillies, who sponsored several families--check out the pictures below! (Thanks also to Jesse Hayden for the photos, and Ambler mayor Bud Wahl and the Ambler Police Department for providing security.)
