Kelly Anne Dolan Memorial Fund
Help and hope for families with seriously ill children since 1976
break

The Kelly Anne Dolan Memorial Fund advocates for families with seriously ill, physically and cognitively challenged, or severely injured children nationwide through information and education. Financial assistance for needs not covered by insurance is provided to families whose children are living in or cared for in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware. Families in crisis are referred to us by an extensive network of social workers, case managers, physical therapists, and healthcare professionals within hospitals, medical facilities, social service agencies, and treatment centers. The Fund has assisted more than 20,000 families in 35 years of operation.

If you are a healthcare professional and you would like to make a referral, please click Log In above to register on our site. To learn more about the full scope of our services to help families, read about our Programs. Also, check our FAQ page for answers to commonly asked questions.

Our Story
When Kelly Anne Dolan was diagnosed with a rare form of leukemia, her parents Peggy and Joe learned how the serious illness of a child can affect an entire familyemotionally, physically, and financially. After six-year-old Kelly lost her battle with the disease in 1976, Peggy and Joe created the Fund to help families dealing with the illness or disability of a child. Learn more about the Dolans' story in this short video, produced by Center City Film and Video when Peggy received the Please Touch Museum's Great Friend to Kids Award.

What's Happening at the Fund?

A lot . . . we've been busy! This year our two Family Fun Days allowed families caring for seriously ill or disabled children a welcome day of respite. Our Holiday Adopt-a-Family Program served more than 200 families, and even included a very special visit from a green Phillies fan! Wine in Winter 2012, another sellout, raised more than $60,000 to help families in need. Read (and watch) the media coverage here.

American Red Cross
We are honored to be able to include the insignia for the American Red Cross Blood Services on our website, because Kelly Anne Dolan and her sister Kim relied on the generosity and kindness of blood donors throughout their illness. They, like so many children diagnosed with blood disorders, leukemia, and other forms of cancer, required regular transfusions for their treatments and to get beyond a crisis. Kelly Anne and Kim were transfused as often as 15 times a month
approximately 700-800 units of blood products during the course of their illness.

How can you thank a blood donor? The Kelly Anne Dolan Memorial Fund was established as a way to "give back" to the more than 700 blood donors who allowed the Dolan family time to enjoy Kelly Anne and who also made it possible for Kim to live long enough to find a cure. Blood donors are our heroes! We can't thank them enough!

The need for blood is ongoing. Please consider making a donation soon, if not today! See our Resources and Links page for more information about the Red Cross.

Either/Or
Most people assume the families we help are in an either/or situation. Either their children have cancer or cystic fibrosis, either muscular dystrophy or sickle cell anemia—you get the picture.
